(Washington, DC)  --  NBC's Bob Costas is taking the opportunity to weigh in on the controversy surrounding the Washington Redskins' nickname.

During halftime of last night's "Sunday Night Football" game between Dallas and Washington, Costas listed several college teams that changed their mascots such as the Saint John's Redmen who are now the Red Storm and the Miami Redskins who became the Redhawks.  Costas also said while the team doesn't mean to insult Native Americans, it should be sensitive to the fact it can.
