Judge To Address Family Separation Settlement

A judge in San Diego will assess a settlement in cases involving family separation at the border. Tomorrow, U.S. District Judge Dana Sabraw is due to review the settlement reached between the Trump administration and plaintiffs in three lawsuits.  Under the proposed agreement, parents who failed an initial interview to determine if they had "credible fear" to return to their home country would be granted a new interview.  In June, Sabraw mandated that asylum seeking families were to be reunited.  However, more than 400 children remain in federal custody after being separated from their parents.
