Payless Shoe Source stores are closing their doors and one Kansas woman took advantage of their deep discounts and bought every single pair of shoes left in the Hays store. ButAddy Trittwasn’t looking to fill up her closet, she donated all 204 pairs to Nebraska flood victims.
After Payless dropped their prices to $1 a pair, Tritt negotiated with the business and managed to get all those shoes for $100 total - which would have cost more than $6,000 at retail prices. She was able to buy womens, childrens, and men’ shoes to donate to those affected by the recent historic flooding in the midwest.
“I really feel I have been directed and guided to help people,” Tritt says. “If you can do something for someone else, you need to find a way, even if it’s a pair of shoes.”
