Lottery Winner Wants to Help the World

Manuel Franco was just revealed as the winner of a $768 million Powerball jackpot – the third largest in history. The 24-year-old from Milwaukee, Wisconsin said the huge win still feels like a dream. “It was amazing, my heart started racing, blood pumping,” he shared. “I screamed for about five or 10 minutes.”

When Franco bought 10 dollars worth of tickets from the Speedway in New Berlin, he had a feeling that one those tickets was the jackpot. “I honestly felt so lucky that I did look up at the camera and I wanted to wink at it cause I just had that lucky feeling,” he says.

The biggest question Manuel was asked – what now? He went to work the day after he won, but halfway through he was so anxious that he quit. Franco doesn’t want to splurge and be reckless or be one those lotto winners that go broke or bankrupt. After choosing the lump sum of $477 million, which will leave him with $326 million after taxes, he plans to live a normal life and will try to “help out the world.”
