A Thousand Classic Videos Getting Re-Mastered To HD

Fans of classic music videos will be glad to hear that some of them are going to start looking a bit better. YouTube Music and Universal Music Group are teaming up to remaster close to 1,000 classic clips from artists like Lionel Richie, Janet Jackson, Tom Petty, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, George Strait and more. 

“It’s really an honor to partner with Universal Music Group and change the way fans around the globe will experience viewing some of the most classic and iconic videos. The quality is truly stunning,”Stephen Bryan, Global Head of Label Relations at YouTube, shares. “It’s our goal to ensure that today’s music videos – true works of art – meet the high-quality standards that artists’ works deserve, and today’s music fans expect.”

More than 100 videos have already been updated to HD and with premium audio quality including clips from the Beastie Boys, Meat Loaf, No Doubt,The Killers,Spice Girls,Billy Idol and more.Each week an additional 100 titles will be upgraded, with the project expected to be finished by the end of 2020.Click here for a complete list of videos that have already been remastered.
