Austin Looks Into Second Hotel To Help Homeless

The city of Austin is zeroing in on the second hotel it could purchase to help their homeless population. The hotel would cost six-point-eight-million dollars to buy and another million to renovate. The 71 room hotel near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport made its way onto Monday's agenda. The agenda items will let city council members to negotiate with Jay Shyam Corp who currently owns the property. Less than a month ago Council approved the housing-first shelter for eight million dollars.
