Texas Rep. Crenshaw To Take Leave After Eye Surgery

Texas GOP Representative Dan Crenshaw plans to take a month-long leave after emergency eye surgery. The former U.S. Navy Seal lost his right eye in 2012 from a bomb attack while serving in Afghanistan. On Sunday he had emergency surgery on his other eye after his ophthalmologist discovered his retina was detaching due to lingering effects of the blast. Crenshaw says the surgery went well, but he'll be "effectively blind" for a month. He added that he's been through worse before and he'll get through this.
