Trump Says He'd "Consider" Providing Testimony For Impeachment Inquiry

President Trump Delivers Remarks On Transparency In Health Care Prices

President Donald Trump indicated on Monday that he might be willing to sit down and provide testimony in the on-going impeachment inquiry against him following Speaker Nancy Pelosi's challenge during an appearance on a Sunday news show over the weekend.

"Our Crazy, Do Nothing (where’s USMCA, infrastructure, lower drug pricing & much more?) Speaker of the House, Nervous Nancy Pelosi, who is petrified by her Radical Left knowing she will soon be gone (they & Fake News Media are her BOSS), suggested on Sunday’s DEFACE THE NATION that I testify about the phony Impeachment Witch Hunt," Trump wrote in a series of tweets Monday morning. "She also said I could do it in writing. Even though I did nothing wrong, and don’t like giving credibility to this No Due Process Hoax, I like the idea & will, in order to get Congress focused again, strongly consider it!"

Trump was responding to an appearance by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who told CBS's Margaret Brennan that "the president could come right before the committee and talk, speak all the truth that he wants if he wants to," and that Trump had "every opportunity to present his case."

The House impeachment inquiry is focused on a July 25th phone call between President Trump and the newly-elected president of Ukraine, Volodymy Zelensky, during which Trump asked Zelensky to investigate his political rival, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, in exchange for nearly $400 in military aid.

This week, the public impeachment hearings continue with E.U. Ambassador Gordon Sondland, former Ukraine special envoy Kurt Volker, and top Ukraine expert, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman. All three men are central figures in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump with Sondland acknowledging in recently revised testimony that he'd delivered a quid pro quo message to Ukraine on behalf of the administration.
