A special Senate committee is expected to announce the rules of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's impeachment trial today. The rules may include what type of evidence will be allowed, how witnesses can be called, and the start date of the trial, which must be by August 28th. The Texas House of Representatives voted last month to impeach Paxton for misconduct and abuse of power. Paxton is suspended from office pending the outcome of the trial. Paxton called the trial a "kangaroo court" on Monday via social media.
