U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz joined several other Republicans in walking out of a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting on Thursday. The senators were protesting the committee's move to subpoena Dallas-based conservative donor Harlan Crow. The Democrats on the committee are looking into payments, gifts, and travel Crow reportedly provided Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The committee's GOP members say the subpoena is a partisan attack on Thomas and a private citizen. All 11 Democrats voted to authorize the subpoena, but Cornyn points out there wasn't a quorum present.
