President Biden and former President Trump will both be visiting the Texas-Mexico border on Thursday.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters today the president will urge Republicans to take up the border deal recently negotiated by a bipartisan group of Senators. The deal fell apart earlier this month after sharp opposition from Republicans who say it didn't go far enough to curb the flow of illegal immigration. Biden is set to meet with Border Patrol, law enforcement and local leaders in Brownsville, Texas.

Meanwhile, former President Trump will visit Eagle Pass, Texas on the same day to tour the border.

“Crooked Joe Biden has had three years to visit the border and fix the crisis he created. Now Biden’s handlers are sending him there on the same day as President Trump’s publicly reported trip, not because they actually want to solve the problem, but because they know Biden is losing terribly. Biden’s last-minute, insincere attempt to chase President Trump to the border won’t cut it — Americans know Biden is single-handedly responsible for the worst immigration crisis in history and the ensuing Biden Migrant Crime Crisis affecting every community in our Country," said Karoline Leavitt, Trump Campaign Press Secretary.
