La Fiesta Food Products recalled their "8 oz packages of La Fiesta brand Unseasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado) and Seasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado Sazonado)" sold in Texas, on January 25th due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.
According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled products, distributed online and to retail stores nationwide, contain "undeclared sesame" which poses the risk of a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" to individuals allergic to the ingredient not listed on the product labels.
Consumers should avoid 8 oz packages of La Fiesta brand Unseasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado) and Seasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado Sazonado) with lot codes 26032; 26073; 26082; 26092; 26094; 26,400, 26094; 26123; 6,240.
So far, there have been no allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the mislabeled La Fiesta brand Unseasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado) and Seasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado Sazonado).
Officials are urging consumers who have already purchased a recalled bag of the mislabelled topping to return the product to the place it was purchased for a full refund.
